Cry Freedom

It finally came today. Small, unmarked, white envelope. When I saw my full name on it, I wondered what it was - nobody addresses me by my full name.

When I opened it, my morning was made. My decree absolut had finally arrived! I am a free man! A poor man, but at least I am no longer married! Mind you, I'm not single either, so I guess nothing much has changed. :-)

Although the seperation started off quite hostile, things have calmed down. It's been almost 4 years since we lived together and we actually get on better now than in the last months of co-habitation. It's a good thing because our son can see that we are both getting on with our lives and he, too, is happier now.

I just wish I could spend more time with him.

Foto Friday

Better late than never...

This is the 'London Eye' taken at night on the 22 September 2005. A bit shaky, but we'd had a few drinks and there was no tripod available!!

Foto Friday

It's that time of the week again. Friday!! Which means photo time! This week's pic was taken in the Yarra Valley in Australia in November 2003. We were on a wine tasting tour - just as well I wasn't driving! As a matter of fact, I'm suprised at how well the photo came out!

Joshua update

Our 'little' boy continues to grow every day! He weighed in at a mighty 6.96kg (15lbs 5oz) yesterday! Still putting on about a pound a week. He has now started to grow out of his 3-6 month old stuff!! He is wearing sandals for 6-9 month olds! And you know what they say about big feet... yep, born rugby player!

Anyway, if you want to see some new pics of him, click here.

Football Fever

As you can all imagine, football fever has hit England! The pub is always busy, everyone is wearing red and white and most cars are flying those ridiculous little St George's flags from their windows! I'm not much of a soccer/football fan, but I am male and therefore, love watching sport. Any sport!

Yesterday was a major day for us! With England kicking off at 2pm and the sunshine glaring down on most of the UK (28 degrees in London), we were packed from opening time. We served beer non stop as the fans watched England win an uninspiring game against Paraguay 1-0. To say that we sold a lot of beer is an understatement. It was our busiest day of the year (by £400) so far. If England manage to get past the quarter finals, I'm sure we will have busier days.

After the game it took 12 of us almost an hour to clean up the mess. The most annoying thing was picking up cans and bottles that the fans had brought in from outside. Why bother to go to the pub to watch the game if you're going to bring your own. Watch it at home with your mates! All games are shown on terrestrial TV!!

Anyway, below are some pics I took with my phone.

PS: Nearly forgot. The Boks beat Scotland by the biggest margin ever on home soil. 36-16!!

Foto Friday

Well, a whole week as passed without much blogging getting done - too busy at work with the preparations for the World Cup (which kicks off today)!

Anyway, this week's photo was taken on 24 August last year at London Zoo. It's one of my favourites 'cos the meercat is perfectly in focus while the background is slightly out of focus.

Enjoy!

Foto Friday

OK, so my photo-a-day New Year's Resolution only lasted until March. Instead of this, "My life..." brings you Foto Friday where I will bless you with my favourite photo of the week. Don't be surprised if the photos are of my sons!

This week's photo is titled Kyoto Garden waterfall and it was taken in the Japanese Garden in Holland Park, London this afternoon. It was taken on my phone, so quality isn't great!
